A Perseid meteor slashes through the trees in this 40-minute, moonlit exposure. The bright stars, top left, belong to Cassiopeia. The bright streak at the extreme right is Jupiter. Shot taken Wednesday, August 18, 1999 on the banks of the Manitou River, Manitoulin Island, Canada.
